Desserts don’t come much better than those served at the South Pasadena Woman’s Club’s 9th annual “For the Love of Chocolate” event last Saturday.
The fundraiser for the organization proved to be another big hit with the community.
Following dinner, guests were treated to an array of delectable treats next to a chocolate fountain.
It was billed as “a festive evening of wine, appetizers, catered dinner.” Yet, like it does every year, the abundance of chocolate stole the show.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Woman Club’s philanthropic and charitable projects, including annual scholarships.
The Darden Sisters Band performed romantic music of the decades, featuring ragtime, rock, country and classic tunes.
Raffle prizes and a silent auction was also part of the event. Local merchants and organizations donated many of the prizes and auction items.
Among those on hand were Congresswoman Judy Chu and State Senator Anthony Portantino, who both represent the City of South Pasadena.
The theme for this night, as depicted on the event’s promotional flyer was “Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate,” and it was difficult to escape the place without a taste or two.
After all, nothing goes together better than chocolate and Valentine’s Day. Giving the delectable treat has become one of the most popular ways to commemorate the day of love, and it was no more evident than at this year’s ‘For the Love of Chocolate.”
