On Monday, October 2, 2019 South Pasadena Masonic Lodge held its annual Constitutional Observance Day Awards Ceremony. FOUR South Pasadena Middle School students were awarded with cash prizes for their essay writing skills and for the first time ever they were all women:

Students were asked to answer a question on the Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution: Is extended solitary confinement a cruel and unusual punishment barred by the Eighth Amendment?

Constitutional Observance Day is a yearly event South Pasadena Masonic Lodge holds to encourage it’s local youth to remember the importance of our United States Constitution during the month of September, when the document was signed in 1776.
