This past weekend saw performances by two full casts of 5th graders from all three South Pasadena elementary schools of the always highly anticipated 5th grade musical. Sponsored by SPEF, this year’s production was “Anything Goes” and was produced by Upstage Theatre Schools with technical direction by James Jontz.
SPEF thanks Brionne Cox, Melody Hou, the entire crew at Upstage, SPHS Theatre technical director, James Jontz, as well as all the parents and kids who worked to make this production come to life. The 5th grade musical is a terrific introduction to theatre and what lies ahead of the students as they enter middle and high school. It’s a wonderful opportunity as well to meet and work with students from the other schools, knowing they will all soon be on the same campus at SPMS.
