South Pasadena is celebrating its 36th annual Festival of Balloons!

Here is all you need to know to prepare to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day.

Be sure to stop by the South Pasadenan Publication headquarters at 1127 Mission Street. Pick-up a water, lemonade, get some cool South Pasadena Swag.  The first 25 people to stop in and sign-up for our online newsletter on the 4th will receive a complementary South Pasadenan custom tote-bag with prizes inside 😉

Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast

Get ‘em while they’re hot! Start the day out right with some pancakes hot off the griddle served up at our local fire station.

Location: South Pasadena Fire Station, 817 Mound Avenue (enter on Hope Street, between Fremont Avenue and Mound Avenue)

Time: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Pancake Breakfast Tickets, Day of: $8 per person, kids under 6 years old eat for free.

Opening Ceremony

Join the Mayor and other South Pasadena officials as we kick off the historic parade

In front of the South Pasadena Library Community Room – 1115 El Centro Street

Time: 10:30 a.m.

Festival of Balloons Parade!

We all know we have the best parade in all the land! South Pasadenans know what’s up and our parade is the cutest and our crowds the most enthusiastic. If you’re not watching the parade, then chances are, you’re in the parade!

Location: Mission Street, from Diamond Avenue to Garfield Park

Time: 11:00 a.m.

Celebration at Garfield Park

The parade ends right at Garfield Park where games, activities and food booths await you. A wonderful place to chill for the afternoon.

Location: Garfield Park, 1750 Mission Street

Time: Noon to 4 p.m.

Fireworks Show!

Gather your loved ones, snuggle together on a blanket and gaze heavenward for a spectacular firework show along with fantastic music. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Location: South Pasadena High School, 1401 Fremont Avenue.

Time: 9 p.m. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

Details: Food vendors will be on site at the show. Pets are not allowed

– Stadium – Alcohol and glass bottles are not allowed in the stadium.

– Field – Only water is permitted on the field, no food. Rounded bottom chairs only on the field (narrow legs/feet of camping chairs will damage the turf).

Fireworks Tickets: Day of – $12 per person at the gate orr $10 per person, at the pancake breakfast and Garfield Park in the afternoon. Kids under 3 years old are free.
