Lu King is young at heart, sprite and looking like she’s just getting started in life as she turns 85 years old in a couple of weeks.
“I feel great,” said King, a warm and congenial South Pasadena resident, getting a few pointers about staying in top shape while attending Thursday’s Healthy Aging Fair at the local Senior Center.
She also feels fortunate and proud to have one huge family scattered in various parts of the country.
For starters, King has four children. Added to that, she has seven grand children, 13 great-grandchildren and is two-time great-great-grandmother.
“I’ve heard about one,” she said of the latter, but not too many have two,” she said.
Five generations of children and more could be on their way. Whew! That’s a lot of kids. To see them, see flies off to Hawaii, Oklahoma and Oregon.
What a shame she has to take a flight to Maui to see her grand kids. “I know, it’s a terrible shame,” said a laughing King, seemingly enjoying life to the fullest.
