Standup Comedy Night Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room. The Library and the Friends of the Library proudly present the “3 F Comedy Night”. The Family-Friendly- Funnies event will turn the historic venue into an comedy club presenting the “Catholic Laughs” comedy troupe. Doors for the free event will open at 6:30 and refreshments will be served. The evening will showcase a stellar lineup of three nationally headlining comics: “Conan” and “Letterman” writer/comic Brian Kiley, Guinness World Record-setting comic juggler Ron Pearson, and Mary Gallagher, fresh off her national-TV debut on the Stephen Colbert show. The show also includes sets by “Catholic Laughs” co-founders Scott Vinci (Comedy Store, Flappers) and the Pasadena Weekly arts editor Carl Kozlowski, who have spent the past year bringing clean and clever comedy shows to groups and meetings across Los Angeles.
Shakespeare in the Park ThursdayJuly 19 at 7:00. Shakespeare by the Sea will be at Garfield Park for a performance of The Winter’s Tale. Picnics are welcome. Shop and Eat Like A French Chef -Farmers’ Market Tour and Tasting with Chef Bruno Every Thursday at 4:30 pm $45 per person,, visit BistrodelaGare.com to RSVP . Take a 30-minute shopping tour with Chef Bruno Morin as he guides you through the South Pasadena Farmer’s Market. He will educate and show you how to pick the best produce and seasonal ingredients Provence-style. After the tour, take a seat at the Chef’s table where you’ll enjoy a sampling of hors d’oeuvres and a farm-to-table Pissaladière (French Pizza). SUMMER ARTS CRAWL! Saturday, July 21, 5 – 9 pm Get together with some friends and spend a Saturday evening in South Pasadena. Merchants will be open late with open houses, live music, art and artists and special sales and other events. Eateries will offer special menus, beverages and other discounts – treat yourself to dinner or a snack on Mission! Artisans’ Marketplace will feature unique and handcrafted items for you, your home or gifts. Get creative at the interactive art activity, located in the City Hall courtyard. A live concert performance by Goh Kurosawa and an exhibit of drawings and paintings by Pete Morris Saturday, July 21 The free event will open at 6:00 p.m. when more than 40 of Morris’s stunning artworks of LA people and scenes will be on display. At 7:00 p.m. a documentary about Pete’s life and artwork will be screened and Goh Kurosawa will present a dynamic solo guitar set at 7:30 p.mat the Library Community Room on as part of the Summer Arts Crawl. 19th Annual Block Party and Community Resource Fair Saturday Hosted by Assemblymember Chris HoldenAugust 4, 2018 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. 500 block of Jackson Street in Pasadena Come discuss legislative and community issues while enjoying live music, a classic car show, game trucks and much more! Information on local and state resources will also be available. A brief community recognition program starts at noon so please give yourself time to drive and park, bike, walk, or ride public transportation. We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Go Day One and Bike SGV to offer free bike valet! We are excited to offer bike parking options to encourage our community to travel green. Space is limited, so please stop by the Go Day One booth early to park your bike (Located on the west end of Jackson Street).

CERT Basic Training  Registration Open – Oct 6, 13, 20, 8:00am to 1:00pm each day This 12 hour course teaches the CERT Basics including Fire Safety, Disaster Medical Operations, Search and Rescue, & Hazardous Materials. Must complete all 3 classes to graduate. In 95% of all emergencies, a neighbor, co-worker, or bystander is the first person at the scene of an emergency.
