No one hit Friday’s Mega Millions $1 billion jackpot. There were also no winners in Saturday’s $477 million Powerball drawing, driving Wednesday’s prize to reach an expected $620 million.

A new house, car, and dreamy vacation are all on the minds of those hoping to cash in on the big prize.

Lottery officials can’t even explain it, outside of the fact rules have tightened, creating less frequent payouts but larger sums to winners in recent years.

It’s a rare event, indeed, with that much money on the line, giving millions Lotto Fever to win billions – more than $2.2 billion, in fact.
