South Pasadena City Treasurer Gary Pia was wondering, “What to do about mom and dad” as he recently addressed the City Council.

Pia, speaking from the podium, was encouraging the public to attend an important workshop next month where he hopes the question will be answered.

Entitled “What to do about Mom and Day,” the session on Wednesday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the South Pasadena Library community Room, will provide caregivers and families of older adults information on how to cope with the early onset of conditions that can impact a person’s quality of life.

A panel of professionals will provide resource materials and answer questions on a one-on-one basis. Those in attendance will receive reference materials to seek support during the aging process.

The informational session is free and “I’d like to invite the public to come out to it,” said Pia.

The workshop is hosted by the South Pasadena Senior Center and the Senior Citizens Commission and sponsored by Hurtado & Sokolow Real Estate.

The South Pasadena Library Community Room is at 1115 El Centro St. in South Pasadena.
