Police and fire department units quickly rushed to Wells Fargo Bank in South Pasadena early Saturday morning following reports that a man had cut himself with a knife.

Officers made contact with the subject shortly after 9 a.m. outside the bank at 1000 Fair Oaks Avenue “and we were able to determine that he was in need to be mentally evaluated,” explained South Pasadena Police Department Corporal Avick Manukian. “He posed no danger to anyone else. 1. I find it odd that the SPPD can take obviously dangerous men alive, but they thought that they had to shoot and kill a disabled woman who was 5’3″, weighed all of 82 lbs., was not violent, and was a threat to absolutely no one. It is even more disgusting that they won’t take responsibility for it at all. Everyone involved in the death of Vanessa Marquez should be ashamed of themselves.
