With South Pasadena currently operating under a Stage 2 Serious Water Supply Shortage this April 2026, the City is urging residents to follow mandatory watering schedules to ensure a sustainable future. These restrictions apply citywide to all residential and commercial properties to combat ongoing statewide drought conditions.

New Watering Schedules

Outdoor watering is now strictly limited to two days per week based on your home or business address. Additionally, watering is strictly prohibited for everyone between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to prevent excessive evaporation.

  • Even-numbered addresses: Mondays and Thursdays.

  • Odd-numbered addresses: Tuesdays and Fridays.

  • No watering allowed: Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

“Our early efforts are vital and can help minimize drought impacts,” noted a representative from the South Pasadena Public Works Department. “By working together, we can ensure there is enough water to sustain the city moving forward.”

As part of the ordinance, residents must also repair any plumbing leaks or broken sprinklers within 48 hours of notification. Furthermore, all hoses must be equipped with shutoff nozzles to prevent runoff onto sidewalks or streets.
