Tigers Come Up a Little Short

South Pasadena High falls to Ventura in semifinals of the 2018 CIF Southern California Regional Girls’ Soccer Championships

South Pasadena High’s hopes of winning the 2018 CIF Southern California Regional Girls’ Soccer Championship came to an end on Thursday evening as the Tigers’ fell to host Ventura 3-0 in semifinal action.

With the loss, the Tigers finished a highly successful season, which included a CIF-Southern Section Division 5 title, with a 21-4-3 record. The win improved Ventura’s record to 19-5-3.

A victory would have put South Pasadena High School Girls Soccer Team in the finals on Saturday for the SoCal title against Paloma Valley, which beat Westminster 4-0 in the other semifinal.

The South Pasadena Tigers won the Rio Hondo League this season with a 6-1-1 mark before going on to winning five straight playoff games to win the CIF crown.
