ALMOST, MAINE – a series of nine stories about love - equal parts heartbreaking and hilarious - that take place one winter night in a small town in northern Maine. Almost, Maine called “sweet, poignant, and witty. Nearly perfect,” by the New York Daily News, is one the most popular professional, collegiate, and high school shows in the country.
Step away from your stresses, put on your boots and gloves, and travel to Almost, Maine for this charming show that can be enjoyed by the entire community. On a cold winter night, the Northern Lights appear in the sky above Almost and odd things start happening to its residents. These twenty characters, played by fourteen actors, are all looking for something; some know what that thing is, some don’t. Some don’t even know that they are looking. But in each scene something bizarre will happen and each character will find themselves on a precipice, dealing with “the thunderclap of love and the scorched earth that sometimes follows”(The New York Times).
Each scene builds on the previous one until a cathartic climax ties it all together. Almost, Maine, directed by Nick Hoffa with technical direction by James Jontz, runs two weekends: Fri Dec. 1th & Sat Dec. 1th, 7pm. Sun Dec. 3th, 2pm. Fri and Sat Dec. 8th & 9th at 7pm.
