The South Pasadena Senior Center, 1102 Oxley Street in South Pasadena, invites senior citizens to take advantage of programs and services offered to enhance their quality of life.

Friday, February 22, 10:30 a.m. – The Political Aftermath of the 2018 Elections – Presented by Dr. Andrew Winnick, an economist professor emeritus form CSLA. Dr. Winnick is presently an adjust professor at Claremont. He is an expert on international education and in addition to being a highly informed and articulate commentator on both California politics and the national scene. Sign up needed.

Friday, February 22, 11:45 a.m. – Birthday Celebration – The Center will celebrate all birthdays for the Month of February. Come join us to celebrate the birthdays, honorees receive free lunch and birthday card. Cake is provided for all attending the luncheon. Advanced sign up required.

Friday, February 22, 1 p.m. – Friday Cinema featuring “First Man” a 2018 film, Drama/Science Fiction, lasting two hours and 22 minutes. All seniors are welcome.

Monday, February 25, 10:30 a.m. – Health, Wellness & Wholeness – Class provides educational information on how to maintain a healthy and positive attitude by staying emotionally and physically fit. Learn how to start establishing social networks. Presented by LA County Department of Mental Health.

Monday, February 25, 1:15 p.m. – Foreign Film day featuring “Cloud 9” a 2008 film, language German, Drama/Romance, lasting 98 minutes. All seniors are welcome.

Wednesday, February 27, 1 p.m. – Elder Wisdom – The group honors and respects one another. They share resources and support each other as they journey through what can be the best part of our lives. Finding meaning and purpose today and every day. Group facilitator: Oliver Beaudette, CERTIFIED Sage-Ing leader.

Friday, March 1, 10 a.m. – Blood Pressure Screening – Transitions Hospice is the Host, walk-ins welcome.

Lunch is served Monday through Friday by reservation.  Menu for the week is as follows: 

Friday, February 22 – Roast Turkey

Monday, February 25 – Shredded BBQ Chicken on bun

Tuesday, February 26 – Pork Roast with Apples

Wednesday 27 – Baked Ziti Pasta with ground beef

Thursday, Feb. 28 – Bratwurst w/ onions

Friday, March 1  – Call for menu.  Cost per person $2.25 for onsite and reservations are necessary. Home delivered meals are offered to those that are frail or recovering from illness, cost per meal $2.50, contact the office for any application.
