Summer’s Here! | Swim Lessons at SPHS

Swimming lessons and recreational hours for general public use available at South Pasadena High School’s pool during the summer months

Now that Memorial Day is behind us, it’s unofficially summer.

Forget that June 21 marks the official first day.

After a cooler than usual May, residents are looking forward to sunny weather.

For relief from the hot sun, they’ll likely be looking for spots to cool off. A popular place over the years has been the South Pasadena High School pool, where parents can sign their kids up for swim lessons and take a dip with them during scheduled hours.

Two-week, 30-minute swim lessons, Monday through Friday, are scheduled from June 17 August 2 starting at: 10:20 a.m. and 10:55 a.m., 2:50 p.m., 3:25 p.m., and 4 p.m. Each two-week session costs $100. All levels are available – beginner, intermediate and advanced. Private lessons are also available for an additional cost.

Want to go swimming? Recreation swim sessions for the general public are available at a nominal fee of $3 per entry Monday-Friday 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.

Floatation devices are not allowed in the pool area. Swimsuits only; not cutoffs or t-shirts can be worn in the pool.

South Pasadena High’s pool is located at 1527 Diamond Avenue. To register for swim classes and additional information, call (626) 441-5740.
