Green Brooms Music Academy will be offering Group Classes during their 6-week Summer Session! Below are details about class offerings. Space is limited to 6 students per class so be sure to call them at 626.808.4031 to reserve a spot!
Little Voices (ages 5-7 years old)
Saturdays @ 12:30pm, July 7th – August 11th
Cost: $165 for 6-week course
Little Voices is a 45-minute group beginner singing class offered to kids aged 5-7 years old. The class aims to teach students healthy singing, basic musicianship skills and to help students develop a sense of comfort sharing their voices in front of others. All of this while singing fun, age-appropriate songs!
iSing (ages 8 – 11 years old)
Thursdays @ 6:30pm, July 5th – August 9th
Cost: $165 for 6-week course
iSing is a 45-minute group singing class offered to kids aged 8 – 11 years old. The class aims to teach students healthy singing, basic musicianship skills and to help students develop a sense of comfort sharing their voices in front of others. Students will work on voice exercises, breathing techniques, ear training, harmonizing, repertoire, dynamics and performance. All of this while singing fun, age-appropriate songs!
Young Strummers (ages 8 – 11 years old)
Saturdays @ 11:45am, July 7th – August 11th
Cost: $165 for 6-week course
Young Strummers is a 45-minute beginner guitar class offered to kids aged 8-11 years old. The class will teach students chord structures, musicianship and incorporate basic technique into fun and age-appropriate songs. Requirements: Students must bring their own guitar to class.
Songwriting 101 (ages 11 – 15 years old)
Mondays @ 2pm, July 9th – August 6th
Cost: $200 for 5-week course
Songwriting 101 is a 60-minute group class, perfect for the beginning songwriter or the curious songwriter looking for new inspiration. This course focuses on songwriting techniques used in many great songs and applying them to ones own compositions. Working alongside other students in a fun and productive learning environment, students will begin writing their own songs from day one, and will finish writing at least one new song by the end of the course. Requirements: To begin the songwriting course, students should already have intermediate proficiency in voice and/or a musical instrument. Students will need to bring a binder to class with lined paper for lyrics and note-taking, and manuscript (blank sheet music). Pencils (not pens) will be needed as well. Ability to read music is preferred but not required.
