During the South Pasadena Unified School District Board meeting earlier this month, Superintendent Yantz presented a summary of the District’s progress toward its strategic plan goals. The District’s overarching goals are to enable greater achievement for all students, offer state-of-the-art curriculum and instruction, achieve financial strength and sustainability, and provide facilities that support educational excellence. Instructional, curricular, financial and facilities decisions are made with these ideals in mind.

Every spring, using various research tools, the District asks students, parents, and employees for their feedback and seeks input as it relates to the strategic goals. This data informs the annual LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) which is aligned with the strategic plan goals to help us better support students, families, faculty and staff. Each school’s Site Council also annually reviews and revises its School Plan, which is aligned to SPUSD’s LCAP and Strategic Plan.

Superintendent Yantz’s presentation to the board was designed as a progress report and was also an opportunity to make any necessary revisions.
