South Pasadena Unified School District (SPUSD) has released its official media guide outlining the key graduation and promotion events for the Class of 2025. Ceremonies and celebrations will take place across elementary, middle, and high school campuses, culminating in the SPHS commencement on Wednesday, June 4 at Ray Solari Stadium.
2025 School Promotion Ceremonies – June 3
- Arroyo Vista Elementary: 9:00 a.m., AV Courtyard
- Marengo Elementary: 10:00 a.m., Marengo Yard/Playground
- Monterey Hills Elementary: 10:00 a.m., MHS Courtyard
- South Pasadena Middle School (SPMS): 5:30 p.m., SPMS Field
These promotion ceremonies celebrate the achievements of elementary and middle school students as they transition to the next phase of their academic journey.
South Pasadena High School Graduation – June 4
The SPHS Class of 2025 will graduate on Wednesday, June 4 from 5:00–6:00 p.m. at Ray Solari Stadium. Graduating seniors are expected to arrive at 3:45 p.m. (no media access during student check-in).

SPHS Senior Events Schedule
Senior Awards Night – May 28
Held in Anderson Auditorium from 6:30–9:00 p.m., this annual event honors students who have earned awards and scholarships. In past years, over $200,000 in scholarships have been distributed.
Farewell Assembly – May 29
The 2025 Farewell Assembly will take place in the SPHS Gym on Diamond Street from 11:45 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
Senior Baccalaureate – June 1
A reflective, non-denominational celebration for graduating seniors and their families. The event will be held Sunday, June 1 at 5:00 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium, followed by a reception on the Tiger Patio.
Senior Sunset – June 3
A private event for students and staff only, taking place from 6:00–7:00 p.m. on the evening before graduation. The event includes yearbook signings, a slideshow, and dinner.
Senior Class Gift
Each graduating class presents a gift during commencement. Past gifts include campus enhancements like gym benches, a tiger statue, and a scoreboard table.
Grad Night at Disney California Adventure – June 8
The final celebration for the Class of 2025 is Grad Night, held on Sunday, June 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at Disney’s California Adventure. Organized by PTSA volunteers, the event is supported by local fundraising to ensure accessibility for all seniors.
