South Pasadena High School’s freshman sensation Lauren Calderon shot a combined score of 142 over 32 holes last week to set a new Rio Hondo League record and win the overall Individual golf league title.

She and teammate Victoria Tskvitichili turned in impressive performances and now advance to CIF competition

Teammate Victoria Tskvitichili finished third with another impressive performance in the two-day event. Both golfers now advance to the CIF individual championships.

FOOTBALL

South Pasadena High’s football team concluded its season last Friday with a 27-13 win on the road against La Cañada.

With the victory, the Tigers finished 3-7 overall, 1-3 in Rio Hondo League action.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

South Pasadena High’s girls’ volleyball team concluded a highly successful season after dropping a CIF match to Alta Loma last week in straight sets.

The Tigers finished second in Rio Hondo League with a 7-3 record behind frontrunner San Marino, perfect at 10-0. Overall, South Pasadena had an impressive 26-11 mark.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

The Tigers finished the season with an overall 11-5 record, including a 4-4 mark in Rio Hondo League play.

South Pasadena finished third behind first place finisher San Marino and La Canada, which came in second. The Tigers’ CIF opponent will be determined Oct. 29.

BOYS WATER POLO

South Pasadena continues its dominance in the Rio Hondo League action with an 8-0 record, knocking off visiting Monrovia in its final regular season game on Tuesday. Overall, the Tigers are 15-12

The Tigers are getting ready for first-round action of CIF play.

CROSS COUNTRY

South Pasadena High’s varsity boys and girls’ teams took first at the team league finals held at Mt. San Antonio College.
