On Saturday, March 2, 2024, 29 SPHS students in two teams competed in 23 events at the Los Angeles-Rio Hondo College Regional Science Olympiad Tournament. Among the 61 teams that competed, our teams placed 5th and 9th, which qualified SPHS to go to the State Competition on April 6, 2024 at Caltech for the second year in a row. Science Olympiad students have worked hard all year after school and on the weekends to prepare and practice for these events.

Science Olympiad is an international nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers.

Congratulations to the following students and their advisor, Science teacher Ben Ku.
