After a pair of losses to open the non-league season, South Pasadena High had rebounded with a victory before suffering its third loss of the season, this time falling 28-20 to Heritage Christian in Northridge Saturday night.
The Tigers are now 1-3 on the year, dropping a pair of contests to Lincoln of Los Angeles (37-20) and Boron of Kern County (33-14) in successive weeks to kickoff the 2021 fall campaign before winning big against Marshall 42-0 in their third outing.
“We got behind early with mistakes by special teams,” said Tigers Coach, Jeff Chi. “We fought back and had a chance to tie at the end, 4th and 4 about the 15 yard line. Couldn’t execute well enough to get the first and turned over on downs.”
South Pasadena looks to improve its non-league record when it plays Alhambra at home next Friday night in its final non-league contest. Following the September 17 game, the Tigers move into the Rio Hondo League schedule starting with Temple City away on October 1, at home against La Cañada October 8, at home against Pasadena Poly on October 15, at San Marino October 22 and away at Monrovia October 28. All games start a 7:00 p.m.
Look for a recap of the Heritage Christian game soon.
