Early holiday shoppers with art lovers on your list: The SPARC Gallery is hosting a Holiday Group Art Exhibition and Sale on Thursday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. during the City of South Pasadena’s Farmer’s Market and “Annual Tree Lighting & Stroll the Streets” event, where affordable works by noted professional artists will be available for purchase in a variety of mediums—watercolor and oil paintings, collage, ceramics, and soft sculpture. Featured artists are Victoria Arriola, Michael Campagna, Elaine Carhartt, Laurie Hendricks, Shelley Stephens, Rebecca Tager, Cynthia Thiel, and Ella Trimarchi.

The “Holiday Group Art Exhibition and Sale” will then officially open on Saturday, December 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. (with live music provided by saxophonist Taylor Plenn) and continue through Jan. 7, 2022.
Also for sale in the SPARC Gallery throughout the run of the exhibition will be the South Pasadena Arts Council’s first published book, “The Art Box Poems,” by Rick Leddy, a collection of evocative poems and striking photographs of what inspired them: SPARC’s collaboration with the City of South Pasadena that commissioned artists to transform the city’s utility boxes into a visual feast of design and color.

Operated by the South Pasadena Arts Council, the SPARC Gallery is located inside the Chamber of Commerce at 1121 Mission St., South Pasadena. Hours vary. To confirm visits to the Group Holiday Exhibition after Thursday, December 4, contact Blue Trimarchi at (626) 676-4195. Admission is free.
