Snap Fitness is finally reopening its doors in South Pasadena, while continuing to implement strict COVID-19 protocols. If you’re a member, you should expect to experience some delays in the scheduling, since the full-service gym wants to limit the number of members using the facility at any given time.
And that goes for all locations, including those at Huntington Drive and Mission Street in San Marino, the two other locations closest to South Pasadena. All three are owned by Allen Cutler, the local franchisee.
“Though we have moved indoors at limited capacity, we’ve maintained a perfect safety record throughout the pandemic,” Cutler said. “We continue to offer outdoor services to those members still not vaccinated or concerned about safety and distancing. At South Pasadena, we did not have the outdoor space available to operate a viable service, but all of our South Pas members were able to utilize the Mission Street and Huntington Drive locations.”
All locations throughout the U.S. and worldwide go through daily deep cleaning procedures to keep everyone safe, with additional post-workout cleanups conducted during staffed operating hours.
Personal trainers, who continue to support members on a one-on-one basis, are required to ensure that any equipment used is cleaned prior to and after use; if requested, trainers will don appropriate PPE during sessions.
Social distancing is strictly observed by creating safe distancing zones in key high traffic areas such as reception, locker areas and other high frequency areas. In all locations, members will find clear markings outlining recommended routes and six-foot distances to ensure that members can easily abide by the social distancing recommendations.
Equipment has also been arranged, with some items removed, to make it easier to ensure social distancing throughout the club.
Cutler said 2020 was a challenging year, with the gym closing all locations from March 15 through June 15, and again in July through March this year. Taking advantage of the enforced lull, Cutler and his staff decided to go ahead with their expansion plans.
“In July, we built a 2,400-square-foot fully equipped outdoor gym at our Mission Street location,” he relates. “With the help of my wife and my staff we erected and equipped the entire outdoor gym. It’s been a very hard year with a multitude of challenges but together we’ve overcome.”
Opening in 2007, Snap Fitness has been in South Pasadena for over 14 years, proudly offering boutique gym services to the local community.
“As a child, I had a rare hip condition – I wore a brace and had two surgeries. I got into fitness to help others overcome their personal challenges just as I have done,” Cutler said. “My wife joined me in the company in 2017. We opened Snap Fitness Mission Street in 2018 and this year Snap Fitness Huntington Drive in San Marino. Members have access to all three.”
Snap Fitness is part of a large global network of fitness gyms that’s been expanding over the last 15 years. Today, the network has over 2,000 gyms worldwide.
