Friday, November 16, 10:30am- Leaving a Digital Legacy – How many of us use the internet regularly to bank, send emails, Skype, shop and among so many other things that we can do in our digital age? Have you thought a about what will happen to those accounts after you have gone? Join workshop and learn the important steps of including digital legacy in your final wishes so that you have a say in what happens. Presented by Maxine Vo with Transitions Hospice. Sign up needed.

Friday, November 16, 1:00pm, Cinema– The Viceroy’s House (2017), Drama/Romance, 1 hour 45 minutes. Senior citizens welcome.

Monday, November 19, 10:30am- Preserving Your Memory – As we age, we have moments of forgetfulness. You will learn useful tips and brain exercises will be presented to sharpen thinking and keep moments of forgetfulness to a minimum. Presented by LA County Dept. of Mental Health. Sign up needed.

Monday, November 19, 1:30pm Where’s the Fire? – Nobody talks about it much, but wildfires are a major form of natural disaster. We will discuss all the aspects of this important environmental change. Presented by Donald Prothero, Dept. Geological Sciences, Cal Poly Pomona & Research Associate in Vertebrate Paleontology, Natural History Museum of L.A. County. Sponsored Senior Center Foundation.

Monday, November 19 & December 3, 3:30pm-5:00pm, Tech Day– Volunteers from the South Pasadena Youth Commission will be available to assist with trouble-shooting of cell phone, IPad, tablet, or assist with setting up social media. Registration needed. Service available to members.

Wednesday, November 21 & December 19, 10:00am, Book Club– Contact the front desk for a list of books the group is reading. Led by Liz Giffen-Glad. Registration required.

Wednesday, November 21, 10:30 am “Men in Retirement”– Have you recently joined the permanent vacation force? Don’t really know what to do now? Feeling a little lost? Too much time on your hands? Join weekly discussion group and learn how to the fill the empty hours and discover ways to thrive in your third act! Group lead by certified trainer Oliver Beaudette.

Wednesday, November 21, 11:45pm, Thanksgiving Luncheon– It will be held at War Memorial Building, space is limited, and should is available from the Senior Center to luncheon. Entertainment provided by: Piano performance and Magician Alan Rich. The Center will closed down due the luncheon and will reopen at 2:30pm. Advanced sign-up is required.

Lunch menu for the week: Monday November 19 Kidney Bean Chili with Turkey, Tuesday November 20 Bratwurst w/ Onions, Wednesday November 21 Roasted Turkey, Thursday November 22 CLOSED, and Friday November 23 CLOSED. Lunches cost $2.25 and required a reservation in advance.
