The South Pasadena Senior Center, located at 1102 Oxley Street in South Pasadena, invites senior citizens to take advantage of programs and services offered to enhance their quality of life daily

The following will be offered at the South Pasadena Senior Center

Friday, February 14, 10:30 a.m. – Diabetes Management- Managing chronic condition whether type 1 or type 2 can present challenges a one ages.   Understand the myths and stereo types as well as learn to recognize the warning signs and what can be done to manage the condition.   Presented by Transitions Hospice.

Friday, February 14, 11:45 a.m. –Valentines Luncheon – A Day of Love and Friendship – luncheon and entertainment sponsored by South Pasadena Rotary Club. Reservation needed.

Monday, February 17 – Senior Center is closed in observance of Presidents Day.

Tuesday, February 18 – Stroke Support Group meets to assist survivors share courage, hope and optimism to counter the distress of a stroke. Group led by Reams Freeman with Stroke Association.

Wednesday, February 19, 1-2:30 p.m. – All Things Apple Workshop -? Anyone at a beginning or intermediate level will be enlightened to all the things you can do with your iPod, iPhone, iPad, and especially the Apple Watch! $60 for the workshop, signed needed.

Thursday, February 20, 9 a.m. – Spanish for Beginners – class is led by volunteer Walter Cervantes and is offered at no cost to members of the Senior Center. Book fee applies.

Friday, February 21, 10:30 a.m. – Cognitive Vitality –What is Cognitive Aging? Is vitality important? What role does lifelong learning play? Is exercise and nutrition key? Learn the answers and more by attending presentation offered by Partners in Care Foundation. Advanced sign up needed.

Friday, February 21, 1 p.m. – Coping Mechanisms – Speaker will cover methods of dealing with stress, anxiety, or with daily challenges that come is aging. Presented by Aurora Las Encinas. Sign up needed.

Friday, February 21, 1:00 p.m. – Friday Cinema featuring “Downtown Abby” a 2019 film and is open to all senior citizens.

Lunch is served Monday through Friday by reservation.

Tuesday, Feb. 18 – Chicken Cordon Bleu

Wednesday, Feb. 19 – Baked Salmon & Tomato Bisque

Thursday, Feb. 20 – Vegan Meat Loaf

Friday, Feb. 21 – Cuban Pork Chop.

Cost per person $2.75 for onsite and reservations are necessary. Home delivered meals are offered to those that are frail or recovering from illness, cost per meal $3, contact the office for any application.
