Friday, December 14, 10:30 a.m.- What is Hospice & Palliative Care and How Can it Help my Loved One or me? – Join us for an important discussion about end of life care planning and the important part it plays in helping us to relieve pain and suffering during the last year, months or weeks of our life not only for a loved one but also for ourselves. Learn about how to improve quality of life, general qualifications and guidelines, and how none of us has to face our last days alone, but with a team of caring professionals who provide support and guidance. Presented by Transitions Hospice.

Friday, December 14, 1:30 pm, Good Grief: Surviving Loss – Grief is not limited to feelings of sadness. It can also involve guilt, yearning, anger and regret. Join an ongoing support group that will cover the five stages of grief and assist with tools to deal with grief. You do not have to endure grief alone. Paris Silva, PsyD, and LCSW will lead group. Sign-ups are encourage, but walk-ins welcome.

Friday, December 14, 1:45pm, Friday Cinema featuring “ Goodbye Christopher Robin” a 2017 film, drama/history, lasting 1 hours and 47 minutes. All seniors are welcome.

Monday, December 17, 10:00am, Android Training – Having difficulty hearing or seeing on your Android smartphone? Attend a FREE training and make your Android smartphone work better for you! Learn to make your cellular phone louder and easier to use; Send text message; connect Bluetooth devices; operate basic functions. Class is designed for a small group-setting, make sure to register and not miss out.

Wednesday, December 19, 9:30am, Crochet & knitting – Class has resumed, come join us. Learn to create fun gifts or bring your own projects. Instructor: Jean Shono, $5 per class.

Wednesday, December 19, 10:30am, Craft Plastic Canvas Décor – Make decorations with plastic canvas and yarn. We will provide the canvas and decorations. Bring two colors of yarn and plastic canvas needle size 16. Class is offered at no charge to members. Advance sign up needed.
Friday, December 21, 10 am Craft class making Holiday Fleece Blankets with no sewing. Bring 1 yard of fabric with your favorite print and your scissors and measuring tape. No cost for participating. Join us as we finish up projects that were started in the previous class.

December 21, 1:00 pm, Friday Cinema featuring “The Man Who Invented Christmas” a 2017 film, drama/fantasy, lasting 1 hours and 44 minutes. All seniors are welcome.

Lunch is serve Monday through Friday by reservation. Menu for the week is as follows: Friday 14, Cuban Shredded Pork, Monday 17 Turkey Hotdog, Tuesday 18 Stuffed Bell Pepper, Wednesday 19 Turkey Stuffed Cabbage, Thursday 20, Shredded Chicken Taco and Friday 21 Corn Chowder Soup with Beef Stew. Cost per person $2.25 for onsite and reservations are necessary. Home delivered meals are offered to those that are frail or recovering from illness, cost per meal $2.50, contact the office for any application.
