Friday, July 6 Blood Pressure Screening offered 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Offered by Transitions Hospice, participants are eligible for raffle prize. Followed by lunch served at 11:45 am serving Vegetable Lasagna and Friday Cinema at 1pm featuring “Molly’s Game” a 2017 film.
Monday, July 9 10:30 a.m. – Fall Prevention presentation –understand why falls happen and what can be done reduce your risk. Presented by Los Angeles County. Sign up preferred.
Monday, July 9, 3:30 – 5 p.m. – Argentine Tango Boot Camp – this class is designed for those with previous dance instruction. The course is four weeks long and costs $25. Advanced sign up needed.
Tuesday, July 10, 4 p.m. – Ballroom Dance with focus on Swing for the month of July – the dance movement is fun, upbeat and energetic, along with gliding movement. Cost for the month $25.
Wednesday, July 11, 9 a.m. – Functional Fitness – join one of the most popular classes offered designed to improve everyday functional fitness through upper & lower extremity strengthening. This class is for those at the intermediate level. Cost per month for three times per week $26, or $16 for two days per week.
Thursdays, July 12, 9 a.m. – Line Dance to Oldies, learn basic steps, dance to oldies and stimulate the brain by remembering step patterns to choreographed dances. Led by instructor Pauline Wong. Cost per month $20 or $5 walk-ins.
Friday, July 13, 10:30 a.m. Post Retirement for Aging in Place – Presenter will provide cost of care, information on funding resources and advanced directives. Presented by Maxine Vo with Transitions Hospice.
Menu for the week: July 9 – Roast Turkey, July10 Chicken Alfredo, July 11, Beef Enchiladas, July 12 Chicken Curry Salad Sandwich and Friday, July 13, Brown Rice Patty with Mushroom Gravy. The lunches are provided for those ages 55 and older at $2.25 per meal. Reservations are required in advance.
