Kim is a graduate of Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, with a dual emphasis master’s degree in International Development/Urban Studies and Theology. A California native, he brings an extensive and impressive resume including serving as a Coro Fellow St.

“I am very happy to have Mr. Kim join our team. I am confident that he will serve the cities assigned to him very well and continue our tradition of community outreach efforts,” said Portantino. “I take the community engagement portion of our job very seriously and know that David will be an asset to my office and the 25th State Senate District.

Kim comes to the Senator’s staff having last worked in the City of Torrance, city manager’s office, where he worked on special projects, citizen concerns, and strategic planning.  He is fluent in Korean and familiar with the 25th State Senate District.  He will work out of Portantino’s Glendale office.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity to serve the unique communities of the 25th Senate District,” said Kim. “I hope to help strengthen the connections and trust between the Senator’s Office and the communities assigned to me. I will especially focus on supporting the growing number of API constituents and add my voice and values to the team.”
