
Italian-born pianist Rodolfo Leone will be performing a solo recital of Beethoven and Chopin at the Restoration Concerts on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Leone was the first-prize winner of the 2017 International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna. and is described as “a true sound philosopher” (Oberösterreichische Nachrichten). Tickets will be available at the door for $25 or online for $26. The concert is presented by the Restoration Concerts Committee of the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library and will be held in the beautiful historic Library Community Room at 1115 El Centro St. in South Pasadena.
Pianist Rodolfo Leone is known for his commanding technique, expressive depth, and refined artistry. Recent engagements include performances with the North Carolina Symphony (Tchaikovsky), San Diego Symphony (Liszt), Bozeman Symphony (Ravel), Pasadena Symphony (Mozart), and the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (Beethoven). He has also performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto at Walt Disney Concert Hall under Xian Zhang.
A sought-after recitalist and chamber musician, Leone has appeared with Demarre McGill, the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, Music at Dumbarton Oaks, and at Kent Blossom Music Festival. His 2019 tour of Austria concluded at the Musikverein’s Brahms-Saal. As a Performance Today Young Artist in Residence, his performances were broadcast across the U.S.
Leone’s discography includes a debut album on Gramola and Piano Jewels on Naxos. He has performed at major venues including Steinway Hall (London), the National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), and Italy’s Teatro Carlo Felice. Competition honors include prizes from the Toronto International and Busoni International Piano Competitions.
Based in Los Angeles, Leone serves on the Piano Faculty at the Colburn Music Academy and teaches masterclasses nationwide. He holds a Master of Music and Artist Diploma from the Colburn Conservatory, where he studied with Fabio Bidini, and previously trained at the Hans Eisler School of Music (Berlin) and Rossini Conservatory (Pesaro).
