A cherished local masterpiece depends on the collective spirit of our neighborhood, calling on golfers and local advocates to secure their final spots on the green.
For nearly a century, our town has come together to achieve what few other small communities can claim: building and decorating an independent, award-winning entry for the annual Rose Parade. Long after the final petals have been placed and the TV cameras move on, the critical task of funding the next year’s volunteer-led floral ambassador remains a continuous labor of love.
To keep this historic legacy moving forward, the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses committee is issuing a final call for neighbors to secure their registration for the annual golf fundraiser. The highly anticipated community tournament will tee off on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Golf Course at the Arroyo Seco, situated at 1055 Lohman Lane in South Pasadena.
The morning begins with early registration at 7:00 a.m., leading into an official shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The main event features a welcoming best ball scramble format, allowing local golfers of all skill levels to contribute directly to their team’s scorecard while enjoying the scenic local course.
While the day focuses primarily on community fellowship and casual sport, a few high-value opportunities await participants on the fairways. Golfers can test their precision at Hole #17, where a single perfect shot offers a chance to take home a spectacular $10,000 hole-in-one grand prize, generously sponsored by local staple Mamma’s Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta.
Local Advocates Champion the Cause
Preserving our city’s unique parade tradition requires strong collaboration from independent merchants and grassroots civic groups alike. This year, Shaw, Moses, Mendenhall Insurance steps forward as the headline event sponsor, helping shield the rising operational costs associated with constructing the self-built masterpiece.
The celebration continues well past the final green, as participants will gather immediately following the tournament for a group luncheon, an awards ceremony acknowledging top athletic efforts, and opportunity drawings. Multiple registration tiers remain available for community members looking to show their support, ranging from single player openings to corporate tee sign sponsorships.
Organizers urge participants and local business groups to submit their registrations as soon as possible to ensure accurate pairing brackets and complete catering preparations.
