Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts announced it has awarded $900,000 in gifts and grants to 75 nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles area. The grants help support music education and arts enrichment in schools, youth orchestras, and music therapy programs, as well as underwriting concerts by the LA Phil and other local cultural institutions.

This year’s awards represent the largest annual grant distribution in the organization’s 75-year history, and brings the total investment in music and the arts to over $25 million.

“It has been an honor for our Gifts & Grants committee members to get to know each of these organizations over the past few months,” said 2022/23 Gifts & Grants Chair Suzanne Hart. “The incredible impact these organizations and their programs have on our community is commendable. And in light of our large grant distribution this year, we were pleased to support many new organizations.”

Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts is celebrating its 75th Anniversary since its founding in 1948 as the “Pasadena Junior Philharmonic Committee,” a support group for the LA Phil.

“When considering our 75th Anniversary this year, we chose to honor the occasion in a way that felt core to our mission, by supporting 75 nonprofits with the largest grant package in the history of our organization,” said 2022/23 President Vikki Sung. “We’re very proud of our heritage and legacy, and that we’ve given more than $25 million and still going strong is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and perseverance of our volunteer members—past and present.”

Pasadena Showcase will formally celebrate its 75th anniversary at the Pasadena Showcase House of Design Premiere Night Gala on Friday, April 21 with the theme, “A 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Celebration.” The Pasadena Showcase House of Design, the organization’s annual and only fundraising event now in its 58th year, is being held at Stewart House, a 1933 grand colonial estate designed by celebrated architects, Marston and Maybury.

The Showcase House will be open to the public April 23 – May 21, Tuesdays through Sundays. For tickets and information, visit pasadenashowcase.org/tickets or call 626.606.1600.
