‘Operation Cookie’ Canceled | Philanthropy Project for Veterans a No-Go this Year

A large number of organizations, including VA hospitals and veteran homeless centers, have been notified that the delivery of the cookies will not take place on Memorial Day as a result of the coronavirus

Operation Cookie, which provides treats for hospitalized, homeless, and special needs veterans and is one of the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena’s most popular events and most important philanthropy projects, will not take place this year on account of the coronavirus.

“Sadly, we will not be able to schedule it this year because of the ongoing restrictions and uncertainty,” reads a statement from the organization.

A large number of organizations including VA hospitals, veteran homeless centers, Wounded Warrior Battalion at Camp Pendleton, Military Women in Need (MWN), the Jimmy Miller Foundation that provides veterans with Ocean Therapy, the VFW Auxiliary and others have been notified delivery of the cookies will not take place on Memorial Day.

The Woman’s Club is located at South Pasadena, 1424 Fremont Avenue, in South Pasadena.

“We thank you for your previous donations of cookies and time and for your ongoing support,” reads the statement.
