Joseph “Joe” Roger Edward Daigle, a longtime South Pasadena resident, Air Force veteran, and co-owner of Ellen’s Silkscreening, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 85.

Born in 1939 to Edward and Rose Daigle (née Melanson), Joe lived a life marked by service, creativity, and community connection. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963, an experience that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline and commitment.

Following his military service, Joe made South Pasadena his home, where he and his wife, Ellen Daigle, co-owned Ellen’s Silkscreening, a locally known business that reflected their entrepreneurial spirit and strong ties to the community. Joe remained a familiar and respected presence in the city for decades.

Joe found great joy on the tennis court and was a devoted member of the Live Oaks Tennis Association for more than 25 years. Through tennis, he built lasting friendships and maintained an active lifestyle well into his later years. Music was another defining passion. A lifelong pianist, Joe shared his love of music generously, often bringing warmth and joy to family gatherings and everyday moments.

He is survived by his son, Michael Daigle (Kathleen); his sister, Lorraine Tobin (Kevin); and his stepdaughters, Raquel Schnitzer (Dr. Cary Schnitzer), Diana Koenigsberg (Howard Norris), and Angie Koenigsberg. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Savannah Lorraine Daigle, Asher Schnitzer, Yosef Schnitzer, and Vivienne Norris.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen Daigle; his grandson, Avi Schnitzer; and his parents, Edward and Rose Daigle.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
