The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Monterey Hills Elementary School (MHS) is excited to announce its Silent Auction and Raffle Fundraiser scheduled for December 4 through December 12, 2021, as part of its “Roadrunners Give Back” campaign. The school’s major fundraising event of the year will support student enrichment, teacher needs, as well as technology and facility enhancement. The silent auction is open to the entire community.
A preview of auction items is available now at www.32auctions.com/mhspta. Online bidding opens Saturday, December 4 at 9 a.m., and ends Sunday, December 12 at 7 p.m. Raffle tickets for themed gift baskets will also be available for $5 beginning Nov. 28, 2021.
The MHS Silent Auction and Raffle has over 200 unique items to bid on for nearly every interest—from date-night and self-care goods to gift cards and high-end packages for travel enthusiasts, fitness buffs, wine aficionados and foodies. Highlights of the auction include: resort packages to Cabo San Lucas, Fiji, Italy, South Africa and St. Lucia; glamping and cycling adventures; family photography sessions and original art; performances at the Pasadena Playhouse and Pasadena Symphony & Pops; art, music, fitness and cooking classes; as well as gift certificates to local boutiques, restaurants, museums and sporting events. Bidding takes place online at www.32auctions.com/mhspta. The local nonprofit D.U.D.E.S. (Dads Uniting Dads in Education and Service) will promote the auction with a parade through town on the morning of December 5. Raffle winners will be announced daily online throughout the event.
“The community response has been tremendous. We are grateful to the many wonderful parents, sponsors and local businesses in our community who have donated so many amazing items to bid on—big and small—from rugs and art from the Rug Gallery of South Pasadena to beautiful plants from South Plantsadena. We also have some very special lunch and dinner dates available with our own MHS Principal Dr. Laurie Narro; South Pasadena Mayor Diana Mahmud; and SPUSD Board members Dr. Ruby Kalra, Dr. Pat Martinez-Miller and Mr. Zahir Robb,” said auction chair Beth Gee. “We’re excited to be able to do such meaningful fundraising in a way where our friends and neighbors can holiday shop or get something nice for themselves through our auction.”
“One of our biggest donors during this silent auction endeavor, Whole Foods, completely floored us by directly donating $3,000 to the MHS PTA towards our goals of promoting volunteerism, culture, arts, literature, environmental consciousness and diversity education,” said MHS PTA President Jennifer Tuason. “We love our local community and appreciate the generous support from many businesses and community members.”
