Man Revived by South Pasadena Fire & Rescue | CPR Alert System Worked Tonight

Emergency CPR APP alerted locals to aid. SPFD arrives within minutes

A man was discovered unconscious and face down in the bushes on the corder of Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Verde Way at approximately 9:52 p.m. Wednesday July 17.

Certain emergency apps downloaded to smart phones will alert users within a close area of an emergency call location. The alert comes through as “CPR NEEDED”, along with the location.

South Pasadena first responders were on the scene of this emergency within 5 minutes.  Locals were on the scene when they arrived due to the app.

The unconscious male was checked by a local to see if he was breathing, he was. Just a moment later SPFD arrived. The man was revived by South Pasadena Rescuers within minutes.

Initial reports from SPFD personnel determined that the individual may not have actually suffered a heart attack, but was highly intoxicated. He was treated on the scene.
