The Los Angeles Ballet (LAB) casts a spell this season with Edwaard Liang’s reimagined Cinderella, premiering in June at the Dolby Theatre. LAB introduces four brand-new fairies, each representing a season—Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter—through elaborate, custom-designed costumes that bring nature’s beauty and whimsy to the stage.
A Celebration of the Earth Through Dance
At the heart of this reimagined production are LAB’s four seasonal fairies. The Spring Fairy leads the magical ensemble in a bouquet of soft pastels, followed by Summer’s radiant glow, Autumn’s golden richness, and Winter’s icy elegance. Designed by LAB’s own costuming team, each fairy’s wardrobe features detailed craftsmanship and personality-infused design, making this Cinderella truly a celebration of the Earth’s wonder and transformation.
A Gala to Remember
Before the curtain rises at the Dolby Theatre, LAB invites guests to the 2025 Gala: Cinderella’s Fairytale Ball on May 17 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Inspired by the upcoming ballet, the event will transport attendees to a world of romance and magic. The evening features a special preview performance by LAB dancers and welcomes families with children interested in dance.
One of the evening’s highlights is the live auction of a custom replica of Cinderella’s wedding ball gown costume—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring a piece of stage magic home.
