Little Women Ballet, the acclaimed original ballet inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel, returns this spring with two unforgettable performances celebrating women’s stories through dance. Audiences are invited to experience both an immersive, site-specific ballet at the Heritage Square Museum from May 23–25, and a full-length classical production at the Pasadena Playhouse on June 21–22.
A Walk Through the March Sisters’ World
From May 23–25, Little Women Ballet and ArtistsPlus Productions present a Spring Immersive Site-Specific Experience at Los Angeles’ Heritage Square Museum. This unique production allows guests to walk the grounds of the historic Victorian village while witnessing 15-minute ballet vignettes inside and around restored 19th-century homes. The production brings the story of Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy to life, featuring original choreography, seasonal décor, and interactive experiences—including spring-themed refreshments, goodie bags, and Victorian folk dancing with the cast.
Guests are given a colored ribbon corresponding to one of the March sisters to guide their journey and narrator. Performances take place across five showtimes:
-
Friday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m.
-
Saturday, May 24 at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
-
Sunday, May 25 at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $62 per person and include desserts, drinks, a guided experience, and photo opportunities with the cast. For accessibility information and to purchase tickets, visit www.littlewomenballet.com.
Full-Length Ballet Returns to Pasadena Playhouse
Following its successful debut, the Little Women full-length classical ballet returns with three performances at the historic Pasadena Playhouse:
-
Saturday, June 21 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
-
Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices range from $42 to $49 and are available at www.pasadenaplayhouse.org.
This two-act ballet blends original music by Daniel Robbins with classic Victorian-era compositions, beautifully capturing the essence of Alcott’s characters. Audiences can expect heartfelt choreography depicting iconic literary moments such as Jo’s rejection of Laurie and Beth’s emotional farewell.
From Tragedy to Triumph
The return of Little Women Ballet marks a significant milestone after the Eaton Fire devastated much of the production’s sets, costumes, and props. Thanks to widespread community support, the team rebuilt and is now presenting two new productions that reinforce its mission: uplifting stories centered on women’s voices.
Choreographed and directed by Emma Andres, a UC Irvine-trained dancer and co-artistic director of SCOPIXdance, the ballet has grown into a movement dedicated to telling stories that empower and inspire.

Honoring Women Through Dance
Founded in 2023, Little Women Ballet is a pioneering dance work that honors the legacy of Louisa May Alcott and other female creators. With a diverse cast of over 60 dancers aged 10–75, the production celebrates themes of identity, resilience, and artistic expression.
In addition to performances, Little Women Ballet offers weekly open ballet classes in Pasadena for intermediate and advanced students.
