Described as alt-country, Little Silver Hearts will be playing the Eagle Rock Music Festival on Saturday October 7 at 6pm on the Americana stage. The festival is a free, family friendly event that goes from 4pm-10pm. Band member, Ed Donnelly, describes their alt-country sound as having “country and Americana influences along with folk, rock and roll, and a little bit of soul music as well. So it’s not pure country but it’s certainly informed by it.” The band members have been fans of the Eagle Rock Music Festival just from attending in the past, so they threw their hat in the ring this year and were selected out of the 320 bands that applied and are thrilled they got chosen to play the Americana stage. Says Donnelly “ we’re really excited about it because it’s a phenomenal crowd, it’s a great family event.”
The Festival blocks off part of Colorado Boulevard and turns the corner at Eagle Rock Boulevard and has several stages along the way with of course great restaurants in that area, making it a great community event as well as a fundraiser for Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock by way of donations and VIP ticket sales. Donnelly also stresses that there is a wide variety of music between all the stages and the 100 music acts.
Little Silver Hearts is made up of lead singer, Sean Lowenthal, bass player, Chris LaCagnina, steel guitar player, Allen Moreno, on drums, Kaya Shaffer and Ed Donnelly on piano. Also performing ay ERMF: Tim Fleming – pedal steel and dobro. Highlights of the band’s shows include their hit “They Will Know” and their popular, haunting cover of the Talking Heads’ Psycho Killer.
Little Silver Hearts released their new E.P. Down The Road in March of this year. It is available on iTunes, Amazon and other streaming platforms. CDs also available at the show.
