South Pasadena Public Library will undergo minor renovations to its main floor during the month of February.

The plan calls for combining circulation and adult reference services into a single desk, removal of the old desks, and installation of new flooring in the entry area. The library will remain open during construction.

South Pasadena Library Director Steve Fjeldsted says a single desk will streamline customer service, giving library users a convenient “one stop shop” where they can get all the help they need.

In addition, new computer workstation furniture will double the number of public Internet computers currently available.

Each workstation will have desktop electrical outlets and USB ports for charging mobile devices.

Noise and disruption will be minimal, and the library will operate during normal hours throughout the project except for an all-day closure on Tuesday, February 19.
