Special “preview” holiday book sale of hundreds of gift books and used books, South Pasadena Public Library, Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro St., South Pasadena.
Friday, Nov. 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Free gift wrapping. Wine and cheese served.
Admission: attendees must join or donate to the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library (nominal amount required). Regular sale open to the public with no admission charge Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. Starting Nov. 20, remaining books will be sold in the library during library hours.
Book lovers are invited to attend a special holiday book sale from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Nov. 17 at the Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro Street, South Pasadena 91030. Wine and cheese will be served to those attending the special annual “preview” sale held by the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, an almost 70-year-old organization that supports the library.
Included among hundreds of gift-quality and gently used books are art books, children’s books, cookbooks, fiction and non-fiction books. They represent the best of all donations made throughout the year to the non-profit organization. Free gift wrapping is available for purchased books.
Attendees must be a member of the Friends or donate to the library. Current library supporters have received a green postcard in the mail that admits two. Those interested in attending who are not Friends members can become one or donate that night at a nominal cost and enjoy the exclusive sale. Purchases can be made with cash or check.
Following the special preview sale, the remaining books will be available to the general public. On Saturday, Nov. 18, the sale will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the same location. On Sunday, November 19, the sale will be open from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. From Nov. 20 to Dec. 27, the sale will be moved to the first floor of the library. This is in the same building but the entrance is located at 1100 Oxley Street. Items will then be available for purchase during regular library hours.
