This spring, South Pasadena turns pink! From April 26-28, the SPHS Drama Club will present Legally Blonde: The Musical, based on the hilarious and empowering Reese Witherspoon- starring movie. After a successful Broadway run and with catchy songs, great dance numbers, hilarious characters, and a positive message for all — but especially for young women — Legally Blonde has become one of the most popular musicals in the country.
Legally Blonde follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Elle appears to have it all: a great lovelife, president of her sorority, and a 4.0 in fashion merchandising at UCLA. But her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law and date someone “serious.” Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new and old friends, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
Legally Blonde: The Musical (directed by Nick Hoffa, technical direction by James Jontz, musical direction by Lia Jones, choreography by Courtney Cheyne) runs Fri Apr 26th & Sat Apr 27th, 7pm, Sun April 28th 2pm, Auditorium, South Pasadena High School, 1401 Fremont Ave. South Pasadena.
