This Sunday, December 17th, Mosaic presents a classic, cinema experience — a special screening of the holiday favorite, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. The community is invited to the Rialto Theatre in your holiday best at 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to travel back to the 1940’s and experience “It’s A Wonderful Life” as you would have when it first premiered. Ushers will be dressed in vintage 1940’s clothing, popcorn and candy is 5 cents, there will be carolers, vintage playbills, classic cars parked out front, a photo opportunity lounge, after-party and a souvenir to take home!

Creative director, David Arcos, says “we are so excited to screen our first movie at the Rialto and to go back in time and give this classic, cinematic experience to the audience. We wanted to give a Christmas gift of home to the community.” He goes on to say, “we’ve had so many people in the community help out with this event which has been amazing and now we’re thrilled to share it.”

On October 17, 1925, the Rialto Theatre opened for live vaudeville and movies. The Rialto, a 92-year-old building, is a community-admired destination for entertainment. After being closed since 2010, the Rialto Theatre is now reopened and is being restored under the operation of Mosaic to serve the city of South Pasadena and community beyond.
