At approximately 1:33 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the City of South Pasadena Fire Department, with assistance from Pasadena, San Marino, and Alhambra Fire Departments, responded to a reported residential structure fire at the 2000 block of Fremont Ave. in the City of South Pasadena.
Units arrived on scene to find smoke visible from the rear of a three-story residential structure. Crews identified an exterior fire at the rear corner of the residence that had extended into the interior of the structure. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters conducted a thorough search for additional fire extension, as well as any occupants or pets. Crews also protected the home’s contents by covering furniture and performed ventilation to remove smoke from the structure. Due to the prompt response and coordinated efforts of public safety personnel, the fire was brought under control quickly, limiting further damage.
One civilian experienced moderate injuries and was treated then transported to a local hospital.
