South Pasadena Fire Department initially reported a downed power line was the cause.
The 107°F weather did not help as the South Pasadena Fire Department, along with Alhambra, Pasadena, & San Marino made quick work extinguishing the blaze.

The garages appear to be lost, but the homes were saved from major damage, reports say.
