Community members are invited to take part in an engaging Micro-Forest Workshop on Saturday, January 17, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at the Arroyo Seco Woodland & Wildlife Park (South Pasadena Nature Park), located in the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena.
The workshop will introduce participants to the concept of micro-forests—dense, fast-growing native plant ecosystems that restore biodiversity, improve soil health, and outperform traditional landscaping methods. Attendees will learn why micro-forests are an effective approach to healing local landscapes and how these principles can be applied in their own yards and neighborhoods.

The program will be led by Katherine Pakradouni of Seed to Landscape, who is spearheading the micro-forest project at the park. Pakradouni will share her expertise on this innovative planting method and guide participants through the planning process, including how to use a smartphone to design a personal micro-forest. Participants are encouraged to bring their phones.
This workshop is ideal for seasoned gardeners, environmental advocates, and anyone curious about stewarding local ecosystems. Tickets are free and available on Eventbrite.
