HUD Extends Foreclosure Relief
HUD Secretary Scott Turner has announced a 90-day extension of the foreclosure moratorium for FHA-insured single family mortgages in Los Angeles County areas affected by the January 2025 wildfires. Originally set to expire on April 8, 2025, the moratorium now extends through July 7, 2025, giving impacted homeowners more time to recover.
For mortgage assistance, borrowers should contact their mortgage servicer or the FHA Resource Center at (800) CALL-FHA. HUD-certified housing counselors are also available to provide guidance. For more details, visit HUD’s website.
CalFresh Deadline was March 6
CalFresh households affected by the fires and power outages had until March 6, to request a replacement for their lost benefits. To apply, complete a CF 303 Replacement or Disaster Supplemental Affidavit and submit it using one of the following methods:

Watch FEMA’s Wildfire Recovery Q&A
In case you missed it, a time-stamped recording of the Ask FEMA: Wildfire Recovery Q&A interactive webinar from March 5 is now available on LA County’s YouTube page: @CountyofLosAngelesNewsroom. Residents can find topics bookmarked by time in the video’s description. Discussion topics during the webinar ranged from currently available forms of assistance and what can be done after receiving a denial letter from FEMA.
UPCOMING DEADLINES
Apply For Federal Assistance Before Monday, March 10
Homeowners, renters and businesses impacted by the wildfires have less than one week to apply for federal disaster assistance. Monday, March 10 is the deadline to apply for both FEMA disaster assistance and a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loan.

Financial Help Through the LA County Household Relief Grant
If your home was affected by the Eaton and Palisades fires or recent windstorms, you may qualify for immediate financial assistance through the LA County Household Relief Grant. This program provides essential support to impacted households for unmet needs not covered by other forms of assistance.

Apply for Small Business and Worker Relief Funds
Small businesses and nonprofits impacted by the recent wind and wildfire disaster are eligible to apply for the LA Region Small Business and Worker Relief Funds before the deadline on Wednesday, March 12.
- Small Business Relief Fund: Offers cash assistance grants up to $25,000 for small businesses and nonprofits that suffered structural damage, equipment or inventory loss, or revenue loss due to the disaster.
- Worker Relief Fund: Provides cash assistance grants up to $2,000 for workers who lost employment or income because of the disaster.

Track Your Right of Entry Form
If you have opted in and would like the status of Phase 2 debris removal, use this tool to search your address and monitor real-time updates on your submission.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has completed debris removal on the first residential property to undergo Phase 2 cleanup operations. Read more here.
For those opting into the government-sponsored debris removal program, the online Right of Entry form is available here. The form also is available in Spanish, Russian, Armenian, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

For those who opt-out: Property owners who choose to hire private contractors for fire debris removal can now receive a permit that allows home and business owners and their authorized private contractors to manage their own debris removal efforts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
The first edition of the Eaton and Palisades Fire Debris Removal permit is available via the County’s EPIC-LA system. For more details, click here.

Public Health Town Hall
Join the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and partners for a virtual town hall on Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m. The town hall will cover post-fire air, soil, and water assessment plan addressing air quality, soil and water testing, plus next steps.

Altadena Community Meeting
To find out the latest information on recovery resources for the Altadena community, join the community meeting hosted by Supervisor Kathryn Barger on Monday, March 10 from 4 to 5 p.m. via YouTube by visiting the County of Los Angeles YouTube channel.
There will be a second community meeting on March 10 from 5-6 p.m. with information for renters and those with surviving structures from the fires.

Free Medical and Mental Health Clinic in Pasadena
The Eaton Health Village, in partnership with the Department of Mental Health, is providing free medical and mental health care every Monday and Wednesday from 12 PM to 5 PM at the Pasadena Seventh-Day Adventist Church (1280 E. Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104).
