In a powerful show of service beyond the front lines, Sheriff Los Angeles County, Robert Luna and first responders from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Altadena (LASD Altadena Station) and Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) will join forces with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to help rebuild homes destroyed in last year’s devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 16th

10:00 am start time LASD Altadena Station and LACoFD volunteers

1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna and volunteers

WHERE: 377 W. Terrace St., Altadena (street parking around site)

WHO: Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna; Captain Ethan Marquez, LASD Altadena Station and his deputy team; and LACoFD Station 11 Captain John Knowles and his crew

WHY: As part of a day to give back (even more than they already do) teams and crews across both the LA County Sheriff and LA County Fire Departments in Altadena and surrounding areas will join together to help with a SGV Habitat rebuild in Altadena.

“Being in Altadena alongside my colleagues and the team at SGV Habitat drives home what Community Impact Day is all about,” said LA Sheriff Captain Ethan Marquez. “The work doesn’t stop here – we’re supporting families, including our own colleagues, as they recover from last year’s wildfires. That sense of responsibility to our neighbors, and to each other, is what creates durable community impact.”

“Our job doesn’t end with the flames are out,” said Patrick Sprengel, Assistant Fire Chief, Los Angeles County Fire Department. “Rebuilding this community is part of our commitment to the people of Altadena. We stood with residents during the fire, and we’re proud to stand with them now as they rebuild their homes and their futures.”

“We’re grateful to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department and Fire Department for all they do each and every day and for their continued partnership and years of dedicated volunteer service with SGV Habitat,” said Bryan Wong, Chief Executive Officer, SGV Habitat. “Their ongoing commitment is helping build a stronger and brighter future for all across Altadena.”

SGV Habitat broke ground on the Terrace property a few months ago to build a home and ADU for Rosa and her family.
