South Pasadena Station Eastbound Gold Line Metro Train on Saturday

South Pasadena Fire Department responds to reports of flames and smoke coming from the undercarriage of the Eastbound Gold Line Metro Train on Saturday 8-11-2018 about 2:30pm.

Firefighters on the scene reported that the front brakes had caught fire and the Metro Train conductor put the fire out with the emergency fire extinguisher carried aboard all Metro Rail Trains.

The SPPD personnel monitored and inspected the situation to ensure all fire was indeed extinguished.  Rail operations resumed within the hour. No injuries were reported.
