Mayfield Junior School fourth graders premiered “California Missions… and More!” in front of a captive audience at the on-campus Hayden Performing Arts Center.
The play, which highlights the 4th grade social studies curriculum, is set in 1920s Hollywood and takes the audience to the soundstage of a blockbuster movie in the making.
“Director JB” and a cast of characters bring the history of California to life, from the fate of Native American tribes and the building of the missions through the gold rush and western expansion and finally statehood.
