South Pasadenans, it’s time to get your 2022 calendar set for the return of popular events postpandemic including our unique and beloved Eclectic Music Festival and Arts Crawl.

The South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce has set the date of Saturday, April 30,
2022, for the return of the multifaceted live music event set on several stages
throughout the town’s business district. The eclectic mix of music offers something for
everyone from jazz and rock to Americana and more.

The 2020 event was just days away when local health officials ordered a lockdown due
to the growing threat of what became the COVID19 pandemic.

“It was disappointing to see the 2020 event cancel, to say the least,” said Chamber
CEO Laurie Wheeler. “But our South Pasadena Chamber, the City of South Pasadena,
our local businesses and community members have been patient and compliant with
the evolving policies to keep everyone safe.

“We are now thrilled to bring back the Eclectic, and it will be a welcome return to live
music, arts offerings and festivity in the late afternoon and evening on April 30.”

The 13th edition of the Eclectic Music Festival and Arts Crawl will be scaled back a bit
from the last festival held in 2019. Wheeler explained that the stages will not be as spread out as in prior years, and Mission Street will not be closed. The main stage will be located at the Goldline/Metro Line.

Beer and wine gardens will appear in several locations, and popular restaurants and
shops will be open for business during the festival. Food trucks also will be in town for
the festival. The popular Artisans’ Alley featuring booths and goods created by local artisans will be expanded into the former school district parking lot site.

Among the event organizers is local singersongwriter Brad Colerick, who once again
serves as the festival’s music director. “I’m overthetop excited to have the Eclectic back on the calendar for 2022 there’s no replacement for the experience of live music, he said. We’re planning a few outdoor stages, and plenty of businesses will feature live music. The festival is free of charge and the entertainment will be easily accessible in our walkable town.”

Performance schedules and a street map will be available at a later date. Many local organizations, including SPARC and the South Pasadena Public Library, are
expected to participate with special activities and art exhibits during the festival.

Jeanie Joe is working to recruit local artisans to take part, and Angelina Coppola is
connecting with local merchants to prepare for the festivities.

Musicians, artisans and vendors interested in participating in the event are invited to
visit www.TheEclectic.Rocks to submit your information for consideration. The Eclectic
is always a great way for local organizations, groups and individuals to get involved,
help out and make a difference,” Wheeler noted. “Volunteer opportunities before or
during the event will be available soon.
