A 5.05 earthquake in the mountains above Ventura, near Ojai, was detected by the CalTech system Sunday about 2:41pm.
A quick, but strong jolt was felt in and around South Pasadena – during the tropical storm remnant of hurricane Hilary, of which the strongest part of the storm has yet to hit the Los Angeles area.
No damage from the earthquake has been reported in the LA area, but Ojai and Ventura are still responding as of the time of this report.
